CONFLUENCE ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER
Confluence Environmental Center's mission is to bring together streams of thought, action and people to make the environmental movement more robust, inclusive and effective. We launched operations in September of 2011 as a project of the Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute (PCEI) and in January, 2012 received 501(c)3 tax exempt status.
The Confluence AmeriCorps Program advances environmental equity by partnering with community-based organizations, public schools, and government agencies who value social and environmental justice. Our partners and the AmeriCorps Members who are placed with them create greater access to healthy foods, green spaces, clean waterways, community gardens, outdoor experiences, energy efficient homes and transportation. Confluence AmeriCorps Members build leadership skills while increasing the organization’s capacity to serve and empower racially, ethnically and socioeconomically diverse populations.
The Fellows Program helps small emerging environmental organizations build organizational capacity, expand leadership, and engage low-income communities and/or communities of color in conservation efforts. We provide various services based on the needs of the organization, such as training's, joint fundraising, consulting, and AmeriCorps members.
