About

ABOUT the Fellows program

The Confluence Fellows Program was launched in 2015 and is designed to help small emerging environmental organizations build capacity, expand leadership, and increase conservation efforts. In the first two years of this program, we were committed to supporting Green Lents. In the fall of 2016, we started new partnerships with the Friends of Gateway Green and Green King (part of the King Neighborhood Association).

The Fellows Program is comprised of 3 AmeriCorps Members (Fellows), which includes a Team Coordinator. These positions are life changing service opportunities where the Fellows engage in addressing critical, environmental needs in low-income communities and communities of color. These positions are a dynamic combination of serving with a Project Partner on a dedicated project (80%) and joining a team of Confluence AmeriCorps Fellows for professional and leadership development opportunities (20%).

The Fellows Program is committed to:

  1. Promoting leadership development, volunteerism and civic participation in a traditionally under-served community in Portland.
  2. Supporting stewardship and appreciation of Oregon’s urban outdoor spaces.
  3. Strengthening small organizations so they have the infrastructure to participate in the Confluence AmeriCorps Program.
